If you have been joining yoga classes for some time but still find it difficult to establish your own practice this course is the best place to start. Are you interested in working towards a 200 hour teacher training and and would you like to test the waters? Or you may simply be curious to know more about yoga beyond the Asana practice and would like to delve deeper into this ocean of knowledge then this course IS FOR YOU.

 

 

WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?

The course provides an overview on the practice of yoga as it was originally taught and helps show how it can be adapted to the modern day. It gives you a solid understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of the science of yoga and helps you establish your own consistent practice. This course also offers a solid foundation into the practice of yoga. During this 3-week program, you will be guided through the foundations of yoga postures, basic personal alignment, breathing practices and principles of relaxation and meditation.

 

 

WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE?

This 3-Week course consists of 6 Masterclasses. Masterclasses will be held on Saturdays & Sundays 1:30pm – 3:30pm (120minutes) and will consist of 2 parts: a 45-minute theory class and 75-minute practical session. To implement what has been covered in the Masterclass and to start establishing a consistent practice, students will be offered a 10 Classes Pass to attend yoga classes of their choice over the period of 3 months from the starting date of the course.

  • Introduction to yoga philosophy

  • Introduction to pranayama and breathing techniques

  • Introduction to the world of mantras, mudras and bandhas

  • Introduction to mindfulness: concentration & meditation techniques

  • Introduction to the art of propping to enhance your practice

  • Introduction to asana sequencing and self-practice

  • Introduction to the yoga traditions and teaching styles

PRE & POST-COURSE STUDY?

Participants will be required to do some on course study and reading, including a personal journal of their practice.

COURSE LOCATION?

All course dates will run at The Greens Studio. The space is purpose built for yoga practice, and fully equipped with everything you need.

About the Instructors: Purva Kaushal

​Purva is passionate about her roots in traditional yoga teaching. She experienced learning classical science and philosophy of yoga at the prestigious International Sivananda Vedanta Center & Ashram, India. Purva likes to follow yoga in an authentic, pure, traditional way without distortion from original teaching method to bring a holistic, healing approach to her practice.

 

Her nurturing yoga and meditation classes are meant for all levels from new to yoga or those practicing for a while with focus on foundation and fundamentals of practice through body and mind awareness and conscious breathing techniques leading to exploration of principles of yoga.

 

With immense dedication she has been spreading the love, peace and light of yoga in Dubai past 8 years. She has expertise in diverse forms of yoga disciplines as a way to serve wider sections of society, from classical Pranayama {breathing techniques} and Meditation to Pregnancy yoga, Yin yoga, Kids yoga and Restorative style.
