What is This course about?

​

Are you ready to go deeper into the teachings of Vinyasa Yoga? Are you currently teaching, and interested in taking your teaching to a more powerful and effective level? Already graduated from a 200-hr teacher training and seeking to further your education? Looking for a deep and challenging immersion into Vinyasa Yoga? By popular request, we've introduced this training for yoga instructors like you, looking to build confidence, expand on the knowledge and the effectiveness as a Vinyasa teacher.

what can i expect from this course?

​

This course will allow you as the yoga teacher to optimize your personal strengths as a Vinyasa Yoga teacher by intelligently synthesizing a blend of potent components. During the intensive weekends, through the guidance of the experienced course leader and teacher trainer Heather Bonker, you will explore various techniques of Vinyasa Yoga, including discovering your voice and presence as a teacher, creating rhythm through this meditative dance, sequencing, modifications, adjustments and how to adapt your teaching for students from a variety of backgrounds.

 

In addition to this specialized study of teaching, you'll focus on the practice of Vinyasa, receive personal feedback from the course teacher and peers, and employ powerful learning methods to radically enhance your teaching ability. After completion of this course, you'll be more confident, more connected to your own personal teaching style, and more effective in transmitting Yoga through Vinyasa.

 

 

Highlighted areas of training will include:

 

  • Group Practicum and Presentation Skills - One of the most effective ways to improve your skills is by actively teaching as well as observing and assisting in classes taught by others; teaching in small and large group settings to hone your skills.

  • Techniques of Vinyasa Yoga.

  • Discussion, practice and teaching of Vinyasa Yoga.

  • Discussion, practice of effective sequencing to Vinyasa.

  • Effective and powerful languaging skills and elocution.

  • Discussion, practice of sequencing to peak poses.

  • Discussion, practice and leading “slow flow” versus “power yoga”. 

  • Adjustments and assists clinic.

  • Teaching special needs including pregnancy modifications for Vinyasa students.

  • Cueing even breath and movement.

  • Discovering effective and powerful range of instruction to create a meaningful experience for the students.

  • Effective demonstrations and “teachable moments”.

  • How to effectively teach without demonstrating.

  • Sequencing to themes, with music and more.

As many believe, Vinyasa is a both a powerful as well as diverse teaching style that takes a host of skills to deliver effectively and masterfully to students. Did you know how to confidently sequence and deliver a vinyasa class to a variety of students? Did they receive the maximum benefit available to them? Or are you new to teaching and want to dive into the world of teaching Vinyasa Yoga? If this sounds familiar, then this intensive vinyasa course could be perfect for you.

 

By popular request, we've introduced this training for yoga instructors like you, looking to build confidence, expand on the knowledge and the effectiveness as a Vinyasa teacher. 

 

Prerequisite:  This Vinyasa course is designed for yoga teachers who have completed a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training.

what is the Format of the course?

​

This course will run on Fridays and Saturdays (10:30 - 17:00 with a 30min lunch break) over the period of 4 weekends. There will be a 2 hour Welcome Circle on Thursday 18th February.

​

when?

​

All weekends from the 19th February until the 13th March 2021.

​

​

Where?

​

Yoga House The Greens, The Intercontinental Hotel Marina or The Hilton Al Habtoor City. Location to be determined once all bookings are made.

What about the Certification?

​

Upon successful completion of this Vinyasa course, Heather Bonker (a registered Yoga Alliance® Continuing Education Provider  - YCAP) in coordination with Yoga House will issue a certificate good for 50-HRS of Yoga Alliance® recognized Continuing Education Units (CEU).

Heather Bonker has 13 years of extensive international yoga teaching experience, is certified and registered at the highest level as an E-RYT® 500 with special designations as a RPYT® (Prenatal) and YACEP® (Continuing Education Provider). She brings a strong vinyasa emphasis that has been developed from years of studies and practice from a collective of yogic influences with senior teachers and international experience in Asia, North America, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.

 

For more than 8 years, Heather was involved as a co-facilitator of 20+ multi-disciplinary yoga trainings with the renowned Radiantly Alive Yoga, assisting hundreds of yoga trainees to find their greatest teaching potentials at both the 200 & 500hr levels in Bali, Indonesia. Her guidance combines a passion for yoga, along with her many other people-centered skills, training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and degrees in Psychology and Human Rights- adding supportive guidance towards greater fulfillment, well-being, and health for all.
